Learn guitar: www.jamplay.com Good lesson by Doyle Dykes on open-string licks & Chet Atkins-style guitar picking after the performance. E-mail me for a tab of an open-string lick if you want one; just point out where in the video it was and I’ll write it down for ya’. I play the ‘Batman Theme’ and ‘Pretty Woman’ parts as well but those aren’t in the tab book, so I could write that down too if anyone wants to learn that bit. jer1400@gmail.com www.doyledykes.com

There is a lot of information you should be aware of for guitar for beginners. This information can be useful so that you understand what is involved with playing the guitar. The classical guitar, electric guitar and acoustic guitar are the three main types of guitars. Many times the classical guitar is referred to as the Spanish guitar. A classical guitar can be used to play any type of music. The classical guitar has nylon-based strings and has a hollow body.
The acoustic guitar is very similar to the classical guitar, as they both don’t need amplification. The classical guitar has a smaller neck and can be plugged into an electrical sound system is also uses steel rings. The electric guitar needs electric amplification to be played and unlike the other guitars it does not have a sound hole.
Each beginner will need to find a method of learning guitar that works for him or her. There are many different methods of learning the guitar and if one doesn’t work for you then you can find another. I would suggest taking a few beginner lessons with a professional as they will be able to steer you in the right direction, particularly if you a re not having any success.
In order to improve and actually play the guitar you will need to practice. In order to play the guitar you need to develop a muscle memory so you need to continuously practice until your fingers can move all on their own and you don’t actually have to think about playing the guitar. Playing scales and a few simple chords can get your fingers to remember what frets and strings need to be played in order to produce notes and chords.
It is also a good idea to learn to read music if you don’t already know how. If you are really serious about learning guitar then you need to learn how to read sheet music. Also learning some basic music theory can be helpful especially if you like to jam with friends.
